Elizabeth Price Park

Elizabeth Price Park Conceptual Design Update: April 16, 2008
City of Tigard Readies to Pour Reservoir Roof
How does one "pour" a roof? With concrete of course! Construction is progressing on the city's 3-million-gallon reservoir located on the north side of Bull Mountain Road near Alberta Rider Middle School. Weather permitting, the city's contractor will begin pouring the four concrete sections of the reservoir's roof in the next two weeks. Each section will contain approximately 270 yards of cement. New Reservoir and Park Construction Underway!
In October 2007, the city broke ground on a new, underground reservoir. The site is located along SW Bull Mountain Road, opposite Alberta Rider Elementary School, in Tigard.

The reservoir is part of the city’s Water System Distribution Plan, and will save pumping costs and provide additional drinking water storage. The increased water capacity will also provide improved fire protection in the area. The entire 3-million-gallon reservoir will be enclosed in concrete and will supply drinking water to residents on the south and east sides of Bull Mountain. The city purchased property for the reservoir earlier this year and recently started work on the project.

Once the underground reservoir is completed in fall of 2008, a small park will be constructed above the buried reservoir. Park amenities will include a playground for young children, picnic tables, and open space both on top and adjacent to the reservoir. A winding interpretive trail atop the reservoir will lead park-goers past a viewpoint to a compass inlaid in concrete. The 2.5-acre park is expected to open in the summer of 2009.
