Wall Street off Hunziker
Located on Wall Street off Hunziker Street, the park is a cooperative venture between
the City of Tigard, a private land owner and the Tigard Dog Park Committee, a citizen
group. Potso Dog Park Goes to Winter Hours Effective Monday, November 2, 2009 Potso Dog Park will be closed weekdays. Park hours will be from dawn to dusk on weekends and most holidays. Also, the water tank at the park will be removed for the winter so park users are encouraged to bring water for their dog. PLEASE NOTE: Interested dog owners have inquired about Potso remaining open year-round. Unfortunately, the current lease doesn't allow the park to remain open year-round. The Dog Park Committee has contacted the owners, but at this time they are reluctant to change the current lease. ** There are also two other dog parks in Tigard. Ash Street (temporarily closed due to construction on Burnham Street) and Summerlake are open dawn to dusk everyday. Remember it is very important that all park users pick up after their dogs so that we can keep the parks open, clean and safe. ** Potso Dog Park General Information
The Potso Dog Park contains the following features: perimeter fencing, double gated entry area, signage, shaded picnic tables, benches, interior perimeter path, smaller interior fenced area for little dogs and puppies, dog drinking areas, parking for 16 cars (two for disabled) and landscaping. Parking
The Committee assists the City of Tigard Parks Department to maintain the dog parks and acts as an informal liaison between the Parks Department and the dog park users. The Committee organizes community-related events at dog parks in Tigard (Dog Days of Tigard in July and a Halloween party in October.) If you are interested in becoming a committee member or assisting with events, or would just like more information, visit the Dog Park Committee's website at: www.tigarddogparks.org. Potso Dog Park Dedication The Potso Dog Park dedication ceremony was held on Saturday, July 20, 2002. This park is an excellent example of a public-private partnership.
In order to keep the park open, the Tigard Dog Park Committee needs volunteers to assist with general maintenance and to monitor park use. If you’d like to help out or want more information, visit the Dog Park Committee's website at: www.tigarddogparks.org.
