Potso Dog Park

Location
Wall Street off Hunziker
Off Leash Dog Park Located on Wall Street off Hunziker Street, the park is a cooperative venture between the City of Tigard, Coe Manufacturing and the Tigard Dog Park Committee, a citizen group.

Reduced Hours For Fall & Winter
Effective Monday, November 5, 2007, Potso Dog Park will be closed weekdays until Spring 2008. The Park will continue to be open Saturdays and Sundays and most holidays - Dawn till Dusk.

Also, the water tank at the park will be removed for the winter and park users are encouraged to bring their own water.

** There are also two other dog parks in Tigard. Ash Street and Summerlake are open dawn to dusk everyday. Remember it is very important that all park users pick up after their dogs so that we can keep the parks open, clean and safe. **

Canines for Clean Water
A recent study commissioned by Clean Water Services linked 16 to 20 percent of the fecal bacteria in Tigard's creeks and rivers to canine DNA. In nature, this statistic should measure zero percent to trace amounts. Learn more here....

Potso Dog Park
Potso University Graduate
Murphy, first graduate of Potso University (PU). Pe"digree" awarded October 29, 2005.
Coe Manufacturing has agreed to an easement allowing the City to use a four-acre site on Wall Street off Hunziker for an off-leash dog park. The Dog Park has been named "Potso Dog Park," in honor of Coe Manufacturing’s "first dog!"

The Potso Dog Park contains the following features: perimeter fencing, double gated entry area, signage, shaded picnic tables, benches, interior perimeter path, smaller interior fenced area for little dogs and puppies, dog drinking areas, parking for 16 cars (two for disabled) and landscaping.

Parking
  • Parking is only allowed in the 16 spaces identified by paw prints.
  • No parking is allowed in the Coe Manufacturing parking lot.
  • Potso Dog Park has been made available courtesy of Coe Manufacturing. Parking in spaces without paw prints could lead to the closure of the park.
Volunteers are needed for the Tigard Dog Park Committee.
The Committee assists the City of Tigard Parks Department to maintain the dog parks and acts as an informal liaison between the Parks Department and the dog park users. The Committee organizes community-related events at dog parks in Tigard (Dog Days of Tigard in July and a Halloween party in October.) If you are interested in becoming a committee member or assisting with events, or would just like more information, please call Lynn Stevens 503-590-2896.

Potso Dog Park Dedication
The Potso Dog Park dedication ceremony was held on Saturday, July 20, 2002. The City Council wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Coe Manufacturing for allowing the dog park to be built on their property. This park is an excellent example of a public-private partnership.

In order to keep the park open, the Tigard Dog Park Committee needs volunteers to assist with general maintenance and to monitor park use. If you’d like to help out or want more information, contact the Dog Park Committee at: tigarddogparks@yahoo.com.
