The Tigard City Council is interested in expanding the Community Connector and Community
Assessment Programs to create a neighborhood-based program that will give citizens and business
owners opportunities to work together with the City to make our community the best it can be. The program would facilitate citizen involvement in the Community Emergency Response Team Program, Neighborhood Watch, land use and development issues, the Capital Improvement Program, neighborhood beautification, and connections to schools—the possibilities are endless—but we need YOUR help! The Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI) is hosting an open house for citizens to help design the program. The CCI members are citizen volunteers interested in creating citizen involvement opportunities. What do you and your neighbors have in common? Do your kids use the same schools? Parks? Do you shop at the same stores? How should the neighborhoods be defined geographically? Draw your ideas on a map. What kind of issues interest you? Parks? Neighborhood Safety? Sidewalks? Traffic Improvements? Neighborhood beautification? Land Use? Jot down your thoughts! Do you have ideas on how to structure or organize the program? Share your ideas with the CCI members!
Can’t make this meeting? E-mail your ideas to Liz Newton at liz@tigard-or.gov, or 503-639-4171, ext 2412. "Your ideas are important to move this program forward! Please plan to participate." Craig E. Dirksen, Mayor |
