Community Connector

The Community Connector program is designed to facilitate communication between the city and its residents and business owners on issues that are of interest or have an impact on the neighborhood.

  • Do you have questions about City Services?
  • Do you have concerns about construction activity in your neighborhood?
  • Do you have complaints about neighborhood activity?
  • Do you have an idea on how to address a neighborhood issue?
Your Community Connector may have information that answers your questions or can provide names and numbers of resources to assist you.

Here's how the program works:

The City...
  • Provides all Community Connectors with current lists of names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of contacts at the City for areas of responsibility and frequently asked questions.

  • Provides brief status reports on the status of ongoing issues at least every two weeks, more often if necessary, to keep Community Connectors up to date with accurate information.

  • Responds within one business day to requests from Community Connectors for information on issues and/or neighborhood concerns.

  • Provides written materials (flyers/door hangers, etc.) and resources (staff and facilities for meetings) to facilitate the distribution of accurate and timely information on issues and/or neighborhood concerns.
The Community Connectors...
  • Identify to the City issues of neighborhood concern and appropriate ways to provide information provided by the City to the neighborhood.

  • Work with the City to get information distributed in the neighborhoods on City issues or in response to neighborhood concerns.

  • Review information provided by the City on the status of current issues and determine if more information would serve the neighborhood.

  • Provide feedback and comments to the City if information is not accurate of if delays in providing information cause confusion or the distribution of misinformation.
If your neighborhood isn't connected - contact Liz Newton at liz@tigard-or.gov, or 503-639-4171, ext 2412.
