Why the change?
In the city's community survey conducted last fall, when asked how they would like to get
information about city activities, respondents named Cityscape as their preferred source—46 percent of phone
respondents and 51 percent of web respondents. However, when told that printing and mailing the Cityscape
costs $80,000 a year and a digital format with limited print copies would cost $2,000 annually,
74 percent of phone respondents and 77 percent of web respondents supported the change.
A small number of paper copies will still be printed and available for pick-up at the Library,
Senior Center and the Summerfield Clubhouse.
The decision was reinforced when it was approved by the Budget Committee in recent budget hearings.
The savings will be applied to funding other service priorities.
