Flying Peanuts... What Should We Do About It?

Flying Peanuts... What Should We Do About It?
As a courtesy to our neighbors and the environment please remember to pack styrofoam (especially those packing peanuts we all get in packages in the mail) in a tight bag before placing in your garbage tote. Although our garbage haulers use trucks that are well contained, the small size of the peanuts allow for easy escape from the truck. These flying peanuts then become a problem for both you and your neighbors and not friendly to the environment.

But Better Yet --------- Recyle Them!
Packing peanuts are great for reuse! Either save and repack them into you next shipping box, or take them to a local mailing house. Look in the yellow pages "mailbox rental & receiving" for one near you. Or if this is not an option for you, both polystyrene block foam and peanuts that are clean and dry can be recycled at Tuscarora (formerly Marko Foam Products in Wilsonville. For questions, preparation information, and directions call Tuscarora at (503) 682-8719.
