Water Conservation Calendar Wins Award

2006 Water Conservation Calendar Wins AWWA Excellence in Communication Award

Calendar Cover - Conserve Water for Life The City of Tigard's 2006 Water Conservation Calendar received first place in the Pacific Northwest Section American Water Works Association (PNWS-AWWA) Excellence in Communication and Conservation Awards for 2006 for a medium utility in the category of "Calendars and Posters".

The AWWA is the largest organization of water professionals in the world. The Pacific Northwest Section includes over 3000 members in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. The Water Conservation Calendar was created from the winners of a poster coloring contest held in spring 2004. The contest was open to all elementary students in the Tigard Water Service Area as well as students from our sister city in Balikpapan, Indonesia. In addition to the student's pictures, the calendar is filled with water conservation tips, facts and fun activities.

The City of Tigard's Water Conservation Program would like to extend a big thank to all of you that participated and entered the calendar poster contest last year.

For more information contact the Water Conservation Program Coordinator at 503-718-2599.
