Recycle


Recycle Whenever Possible!
  • If a product cannot be reused, then you should RECYCLE it wherever possible.
  • Recycling is the process of using waste material to manufacture a new product.
  • Recycling waste means that fewer new products and consumables need to be produced, saving raw materials and reducing energy consumption.
Examples of How to Recycle
Reuse, Reduce, Recycle Grey Board/Paperboard
Preparation: Please flatten.
  • Beverage boxes (six and twelve packs, etc.)
  • Paperback books
  • Phone books
  • Boxes (cereal, etc. discard liners)
  • Construction paper
  • Gift and shoe boxes (discard silicon packets)
  • Paper egg cartons, paper towel and toilet paper tubes
  • NO oil or wax coated cardboard
Mixed Scrap Paper
Preparation: Open and remove mail from envelopes. Please, no non-paper inserts such as product samples, cds etc.
  • Advertising flyers
  • Brilliant colored paper or brochures
  • Computer paper and carbonless forms
  • Envelopes (labels & window OK)
  • Greeting cards (no foil)
  • Holiday gift wrap (no foil, tape, ribbons, bows)
  • Paper bags
  • Paper labels from cans
  • Post-it notes
  • Shredded paper (please contain in a paper bag and staple shut)
  • White and colored ledger paper
  Cardboard
Preparation: Cut corrugated cardboard into pieces small enough to fit inside the recycling cart.
Newspaper
Preparation: All paper inserts received in the newspaper can be recycled. The plastic bag it comes in is not recyclable, though it can be reused.
Plastics
Both Pride Disposal and Waste Management are now accepting additional plastic items. Preparation: Be sure to remove any food, drink, or other residues from containers — all containers must be clean.

Bottles/Milk Jugs
- Plastic bottles with a neck smaller than the base (no lids)
- Plastic milk jugs - do not crush or flatten (no lids)

Tubs 6 oz. or Larger
- Plastic margarine, butter, cottage cheese, and yogurt-type tubs (no lids)

Buckets/Pots
- Rigid plastic buckets, 5 gallons or smaller, with or without a handle (no lids)
- Rigid plastic plant pots, 4 inches or larger

Tin Cans & Aluminum
Preparation: Recycle foil TV dinner trays, pop tops and aluminum cans. Rinse and remove labels and place into cart. No need to remove lids or flatten cans.
