Traffic Calming Program

Traffic Calming in Tigard
The City of Tigard Traffic Calming Program analyzes streets as part of a network to determine what traffic calming measures may be appropriate to reduce motor vehicle speeds without adversely impacting other streets in the network.

Although speed humps have been the most commonly used Traffic Calming Device, traffic circles, islands and/or curb extensions may also be used to provide traffic calming on streets too steep (greater than 8%) or with sharp curves.
