In 2006, City Council made the decision to adopt "A Place to Call Home" as the tagline for the city—representing
a commitment to having Tigard be a city that everyone could be truly proud of—a place with a true
commitment to the community, its employees and to excellence. In an effort to further this vision, the
city implemented three values for staff to reflect and embody. These values are:
