CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled
HOURS:   Monday through Friday 3:30 ~ 6:30 PM.
Observes Tigard-Tualatin School District schedule with summer, Spring break, holidays and in-service days off.
SALARY:   $10.00 per hour with no benefits


DESCRIPTION:  

Performs a variety of duties in order to provide 6th, 7th and 8th grade youth with positive activities after school. The activities focus on sports, games, arts and crafts, educational classes, team building, self-esteem, cooperation skills, goal setting and achievement. The Recreation Leaders plan, coordinates and implement all activities.


DUTIES:  

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Coordinates plans and instructs various recreational activities.
  • Acts as a positive role model.
  • Assists with supervision and discipline of youth.
  • Ensures safety of youth and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Knowledge of recreational activities, ability to be positive role model for children; ability to remain calm under stressful situations; ability to deal with frequent interruptions, ability to be fair, honest, open-minded and patient; ability to adjust to a flexible program schedule; ability to take control of situations; ability to multi-task. Skill in making decisions.


EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:  

Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be through a high school education or GED equivalent and some related experience.


NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:  

Finalists for this position will be extended a conditional offer of employment subject to successfully passing a drug screening and full background checks.
