Capital Construction and Transportation

The Capital Construction & Transportation Division is directed by the City Engineer. It designs and constructs capital improvement projects in accordance with City standards. It also addresses Citywide and regional transportation issues, and seeks to improve traffic circulation and enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety.

The Capital Improvement Program within the Division manages the capital improvement projects for public streets and utilities and prepares facilities plans for future improvement needs. It constructs new facilities or expands existing facilities to increase capacity, and rehabilitates, renovates or reconstructs existing facilities to improve efficiency and extend useful service life.
