Here's how to communicate with your City Council:
- In Person: Sign up for Citizen Communication @ Council Business Meetings (2 minutes allowed)
Anyone wishing to speak on an agenda item should sign on the appropriate sign-up sheet(s) at the meeting.
If no sheet is
available, ask to be recognized by the Mayor at the beginning of that agenda item. Citizen Communication
items are asked to be two minutes or less. Longer matters can be set for a future Agenda by contacting either
the Mayor or the City Manager.

Mayor Cook is a lifelong Tigard resident. An accountant for almost 30 years,
Mayor Cook established his own Tigard CPA and financial planning firm in 1993. He graduated from Oregon State with a BS in Business.
Prior to his election, Mayor Cook was Chairman for the Washington County Budget Committee for 18 years,
President of the Tigard Area Chamber of Commerce, President of the Tigard Jaycees, President of
Tigard Little League, Treasurer of Westside Professional Business Associates, and Chairman of the St. Anthony Pastoral Council.
Mayor Cook is an active volunteer in the community. He has coached youth sports for more than 23 years, served as a Boy Scout leader for the
past 15 years (he's an Eagle Scout) and he was the Tigard Chamber's First Citizen recipient in 1999.
He and his wife Terri are proud parents to one son and one daughter. His father, John E. Cook, served
as Tigard's Mayor from 1984 to 1986.

Councilor Buehner, an attorney since 1981, practices law in Tigard, focusing on
real estate and estate planning. An Oregon native, Councilor Buehner grew up in
the Portland area, obtained her BA from Mills College, Oakland, CA, did graduate work
at Portland State University, Portland, OR and received her JD from Northwestern
School of Law at Lewis & Clark College, Portland, OR. She was elected to the
Tigard Water District Board in 1996. She became a Tigard volunteer in 1997 on the
Visioning Task Force. Since moving into the city in 2001, she has served on the
Tigard Planning Commission, Transportation Financing Task Force, Planned Development
Committee, Financing Strategies Task Force and City Center Advisory Commission.
She also served on the Washington County Long Term Transportation Citizen
Advisory Committee. Councilor Buehner was recently awarded a Silver Certificate of
Leadership from the National League of Cities in honor of her achievements in their leadership program.

Councilor Henderson is the owner of Marland Henderson Construction,
founded in 1991 and specializing in light commercial/residential
handicap general contracting. Councilor Henderson is a member and past chair of the Washington County
Behavioral Health Council. His strong commitment to serving his community includes
positions with the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility Advisory Board, Oregon National
Alliance for the Mentally Ill and Oregon Partners in Crises, a coalition of criminal
justice and mental health professionals who jointly advocate for solutions to
issues faced by people with mental illness. In addition, Councilor Henderson
serves as a member of the Tigard Area Chamber of Commerce, the Tigard Downtown
Task Force and the Tigard Central Business District Association. He graduated
from the Tigard Citizen Police Academy in 1991 and was the Tigard First
Citizen in 2001.
Councilor Henderson graduated from Parkrose High School and attended the University
of Oregon. He and his wife Marilyn are the parents of three boys, four girls and the
proud grandparents of one boy and eight girls. His interests include community
development, outdoor recreation, family, friends, and church.

Councilor Snider moved to Tigard in 1999 and began his full-time
career as clinical manager at American Medical Response from 1999 to 2003. In 2003 to the present,
he has been employed in a number of management roles at Kaiser Permanente Northwest and is
currently the administrator of the Regional Gastroenterology Department. Councilor Snider
began public service early in life, working as an Emergency Medical Technician his senior
year of high school and served two years on the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board
during his junior and senior years in high school. He attended Willamette University in
Salem, graduating with a BS in Economics and Biology. He received an MS in Evaluative
Clinical Sciences in 1999 from Dartmouth Medical School. Councilor Snider volunteered
as a Tigard Reserve Police Officer from 2001 to 2004 and was a member and Chair
of the City of Tigard Budget Committee from May 2005 until December 2009.

Councilor Woodard, a longtime resident and 1978 Tigard High School graduate, has been involved
in community functions, organizations and family-owned liquor store business for many years.
He Graduated from Portland State University with a BS in Exercise Science. He received his
MBA in 2002 from National University, CA. In a military career spanning 21 years,
he served in the Air Force as a Non Commissioned Officer in charge. Then graduated Class
36 Oregon Military Academy, Monmouth, OR and was commissioned in the US Army as a Medical
Service Corps officer until 2003, CPT, ARNG Retired. Occupation: Business Consultant
and Online site author and founder of Mirror Athlete Corporation's-health and
fitness business. Councilor Woodard's civilian careers included Corporate
Fire Life Safety Manager, Building Services Maintenance Operations Supervisor,
USAFR Recreation Director, Fitness Manager and Fitness Consultant. He and wife
Elizabeth have two daughters.
