The City of Tigard Planning Commission consists of nine members appointed
by the City Council for four-year terms. The Commission plays an integral role in the growth issues
of the City. The Planning Commission’s responsibilities include assisting the City Council
to develop, maintain, update and implement the City Comprehensive Plan, to formulate the
City Capital Improvements Program, and to review and take action on development projects and
development code provisions delegated to the Commission.
The Commission, through Chapter 2.08 of the Tigard Municipal Code, was established by laws and
rules of procedure. It usually meets on the first and third Mondays of each month.
City of Tigard Recruiting for Planning Commissioners
The City of Tigard is recruiting to fill two vacancies on the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission advises the City Council on general land use and transportation
planning issues, long range community investment programs, and acts as a hearings body
for certain land use applications. Commissioners make recommendations to update and
maintain the Tigard Comprehensive Plan, assist City Council in the formulation of
Community Investment Plans, apply development regulations, and advance cooperative
relationships in the community.
The Planning Commission consists of nine members and generally meets at 7 p.m. on the
1st and 3rd Mondays at Tigard City Hall.
Individuals interested in being considered for a Planning Commission position need to
fill out a Citizen Committee Interest application and return it to City Hall by
5 p.m. on Monday, October 27. Citizen Committee Interest applications are available
on-line
or at the City Hall lobby, 13125 SW Hall Blvd., Tigard.
