The Planning Commission is holding a series of meetings to discuss elements of a Comprehensive Plan Update. The meetings will result in the Planning Commission's recommendations for the Comprehensive Plan Update work program, which will be considered by City Council by summer 2004. A work program is a description of the scope and timeline to complete a specific project.

The City's Comprehensive Plan is the document through which the citizens of Tigard make choices on how land development and redevelopment should occur, and how it will be managed. Tigard's Comprehensive Plan was first drafted in 1982, with periodic revisions to specific chapters. Each Oregon municipality is required to have a state-approved Comprehensive Plan to comply with the state land-use planning program.

Meeting Schedule
Each of these meetings is open to any interested citizens and subject to public meeting law. Meeting materials will be posted when available.

The Comprehensive Plan Update also will be one of the agenda items for the Feb. 17 joint work session between the Commission and City Council.
