Park and Recreation Advisory Board 2012 Goals (no prioritization intended)
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was created on April 22, 2003 by a unanimous vote
of the City Council.
The Board consists of seven citizen members appointed by the City Council for four-year terms. The Council also appoints alternate Board members. There are also two ex-officio members: one from the Tigard-Tualatin School Board, and the other from the Tigard Planning Commission. The Board consists of the following members: David Brown, Hong Dao, Peggy Faber, Gordon Kunkle, Marshall Henry, Troy Mears, Holly Polivka and Gary Romans (Alternate). The Board has responsibility to advise the Public Works Director and City Council regarding park and recreation policies, budget, facilities, programs and other needs of the community to provide quality park and recreation services. The function of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is established in the Tigard Municipal Code (2.12.010—2.12.070). The Board Wants to Hear from You! The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board wants to establish a dialog with the residents of Tigard.
