2009 Free Leaf Disposal & Food Drive
To help area residents properly dispose of leaves, the City
of Tigard is sponsoring three more
free leaf disposal and food drive events (November 21 and December 5, 12).

An employee of an Astro Gas Station located at 12885 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard,
reported being robbed early Tuesday morning. Police reports indicate that a 48 year
old female employee was approached in the office area of the gas station at
approximately 4:30 a.m. by a white male adult.

Tigard voters said no at the ballot box Tuesday to a $20 million bond measure to preserve Natural Areas, and Develop Parks and Trails. The vote was 47% in support and 53% against the measure.

The NEW Burnham Street is under construction and dogs are being "scent" to other dog parks starting November 1, 2009. At the completion of the project - anticipated in late 2010 - the community will have a New Burnham Street and an improved Ash Street Dog Park.

Many Tigard Water Service Area (TWSA) residents are noticing a slight change in the color of their drinking water this fall season. The change in color is normal during this time of the year as TWSA residents begin to receive all their drinking water from the unfiltered Bull Run water supply system.

Tigard has launched a program to help provide residents with some relief from the high cost of prescription drugs. The city is making free prescription drug discount cards available to city residents through a program sponsored by the National League of Cities (NLC).
