Construction has begun on The Knoll at Tigard—a 48 unit, seniors-only (55+), affordable housing project.

Pacific Hwy/99W Construction Intersection Improvements
Construction is underway on Pacific Highway at Hall Boulevard,
Greenburg Road and Main Street. Tigard is working with Washington
County, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), and
consultant W&H Pacific to improve traffic flow and safety.

The Tigard Police Traffic Unit is investigating the death of a 90 year-old Tigard area woman. Police are working to determine if the victim died as a result of being struck while walking as a vehicle backed from a parking spot.

On Friday, July 16, 2010 at approximately 11:25 p.m., two Tigard Police patrol vehicles conducting a traffic stop were stopped and positioned near the shoulder on southbound Pacific Highway near Johnson St. in Tigard. The emergency lighting and strobes on the police vehicles were operating.
During the course of the stop, a 2006 BMW traveling southbound along Pacific Highway struck both police vehicles.

When you place a call to the City of Tigard's main number your call will now be answered by an
automated attendant. Callers may speak the staff member's name, 4-digit extension or
the subject they need help with. Additionally the system includes a staff directory.
A caller does not have to listen to the full greeting—you may speak or dial
at any time during the greeting.
To assist, the City has published phone directories by staff name, work area and subject.
If you experience issues with the automated attendant system you may report
them to our feedback line by pressing 2474 while in the system or by calling the City at 503-718-2474.
Unparalleled response by Tigard Police coupled with an alert Rite-Aid employee brought a robbery to an extremely
quick close Saturrday afternoon. A 9-1-1 call was received by Tigard Police dispatch at 1:57 pm on Saturday, July 10, 2010.

The Main Street Green Street project will retrofit the southern half of Main Street, from Pacific Highway to the railroad corridor, to full green street standards. The project includes wider sidewalks, landscaping, new street lighting and street trees.
