Construction Alert
New Burnham Street Storm Sewer Construction Continues:
The traffic signal at Hall Blvd.
and Burnham St. will be off tomorrow (3/17/10) starting at 9 a.m. and coming
back on no later than 3 p.m.
PGE construction crews are working in and near the Downtown area:
PGE is relocating lines and poles and laying new conduit in preparation
for the Pacific Hwy / Hall / Greenburg / Main project. They are currently
working in the area of Main, Commercial, Center, and Tigard Streets and
around the Pacific Hwy viaduct.

TriMet has announced proposed service reductions due to a forecast budget
shortfall. Service reductions will begin in September 2010.
Proposed service cuts include reduced service frequency on several
buses and WES, as well as discontinued Sunday service for Route #45
Garden Home.

The City of Tigard is pleased to announce that Ted Kyle has accepted the position of
City Engineer effective March 1, 2010. He has been the Acting City Engineer
since September 15, 2009.

These products are great for what they are designed to do,
but do not break down in the sewer system.

Thank you to all who have participated in the 2009-2010 Toilet Reimbursement
Program. Due to its huge success, funds allocated to the program have since
been depleted and we are unable to continue the program to the end of the
current fiscal year.

The Tigard Police Department in partnership with Pride Recycling will be
sponsoring a "community shred" on Saturday, April 17th. The event will run from
9 am until noon or until the truck reaches capacity.

The NEW Burnham Street is under construction and dogs are being "scent" to other dog parks starting November 1, 2009. At the completion of the project - anticipated in late 2010 - the community will have a New Burnham Street and an improved Ash Street Dog Park.

Tigard has launched a program to help provide residents with some relief from the high cost of prescription drugs. The city is making free prescription drug discount cards available to city residents through a program sponsored by the National League of Cities (NLC).
